This village is named for the falls up the Canajoharie Creek. The Mohawk work canajoharie means "boiling pot" which described the churning waters below the falls. It is a short walk from Riverfront Park, up through the village past the former Beechnut Baby Food factory. From what I understand, the floating docks at Riverfront were damaged by a storm and are no longer there. There is a wall at the next lock upstream but the trains run right along side the lock there, so it's not a good overnight stop.
